The Company
Client is a global services provider delivering technology-driven business solutions that meet the strategic objectives of our clients. Through 40+ ‘Centers of Excellence’ around the world, Client provides comprehensive research and development services, IT solutions and services (including systems integration, information systems outsourcing, package implementation, software application development and maintenance services) and business process outsourcing to corporations, globally. Client delivers unmatched business value to customers through a combination of process excellence, quality frameworks and service delivery innovation. Client is also the World's first CMMi Level 5 certified software services company and the first service company outside of the USA to receive the IEEE Software Process Award.
The Opportunity
Client s is aggressively building its business model to meet significant client demand and market opportunities for very large, global, complex, cross-functional sourcing engagements. One aspect of the business model is the Global Programs Team, which is collaboratively responsible for the successful pursuit of these engagements. To meet these demands and opportunities, we are looking for extremely talented, capable and experienced executives who can lead these pursuit opportunities. This is a small and select talent group within Client, recognizing that the skill set required to effectively manage large, complex pursuits is significantly different from smaller, more straightforward outsourcing relationships.
The Position
The best analogy to describe the Opportunity Leader position is that of an orchestra’s “conductor”. Collaborating with Client’s vast resources in marketing, sales, solutioning and delivery (the orchestra), this individual will ultimately be responsible to perform “the score”, conducting all of Client’s instruments in the process. The Opportunity Leader will be involved in all aspects of an opportunity’s life-cycle, from identification to closure.
The Opportunity Leader will have a primary responsibility of architecting the pursuit’s overall strategic approach and orchestrating the tactical execution, including “shaping” the opportunity with the client. Shaping includes (but is not limited to) building on the relationship, creating the business case and structuring the deal. Market development activities, which consist of the identification and qualification of opportunities, are strongly complemented by a dedicated field sales force. The successful Opportunity Leader earns credibility internally (the orchestra values the conductor) and demonstrates it externally (the client values his/her contributions), while the entire team (orchestra and conductor) meet sustained and predictable success (wins on pursuits).
