Business Manager / Group Test Manager – Independent Validation Services

Brief Description of Hiring Business Unit:

IVS offers wide range of testing services catering to end-to-end testing requirements of clients in the areas of functional and non-functional testing

Our offerings include:

  • Custom Validation – Addresses the basic testing needs of organizations such as Functional testing, System Integration testing, Inter-operability testing, User acceptance testing (UAT) and others
  • Specialized validation – Addresses finer aspects of validation such as Performance bench marking, test tool evaluation and Automation and Regression testing
  • Process consultancy – Addresses strategic needs of organizations such as Enterprise test management, Test process consultancy and test program management

Job Responsibilities:

The Business Manager / Group Test Manager strives to acquire, manage and enhance the relationship with clients and addresses the clients’ business needs with appropriate services & solutions from us. The BM/GTM is also responsible for building and managing the Onsite Delivery Team.

Client Management responsibilities include:

  • Maintain profitability and customer satisfaction, as single point contact from us
  • Identify business opportunities within customer organization and convert them
  • Customer complaint handling
  • Pre-sales support including review of proposals, estimates and project plans for own customers as well as prospects
  • Manage timeliness, quality and productivity of all projects (onsite & offshore) for the customer
  • Career planning, counseling and performance evaluation for employees reporting to self
  • Staffing of projects for customers being handled by self
  • Update org-wide information systems (PSWEB, IPM etc.)
  • Coordinate invoicing for customers being handled by self

Onsite Delivery Management responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of a Project.
  • Understanding of client business & client requirement.
  • Creating a Test Strategy & design based on the test requirement.
  • Estimating the effort for project execution & resource allocation.
  • Defining team organisation, roles & responsibilities.
  • Preparing the project plan & execution of the plan as per budget.
  • Monitoring all life cycle stages of the project.
  • Issuing periodic reports to the clients & responding to their queries.
  • Handling customer complaints & reviewing the project process.
  • Removing bottlenecks if any through out the project life cycle.

Behavioral Skills required

  • 15+ years experience in reputed software companies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational & writing skills.
  • Ability to interact & communicate with the business users & provide value adds to the application.
  • Ability to solve complex issues in given time.
  • Good presentation, communication and influencing skills.
  • Proven project lead expertise

Desirable Technical/ Behavioral Skills

  • Experienced in defining testing process and standard at enterprise level
  • Good knowledge about industry trends and key testing challenges
  • Should quickly understand the context and guide the organization on right priorities for testing improvements
  • Overall knowledge about tools and related best practices - specifically on HP/mercury Quality Center, Quick Testpro and Performance Center
  • Awareness of SOA platform and related testing best practices
  • Test Governance implementation experience. Knowledge in COBIT and ITIL framework will be a plus.

Expected Experience Range: Minimum 15 years – Maximum 20 years

Education: BE, BS, BTech, MS, MBA
