Position: Director of Marketing/PR
Location: Virginia
Comp: 120K (Base $85+ Bonus $35 )
1. Position Description :
- The candidate will identify key influencers of marketplace (in media, industry watchers, etc) based in the US and help shape positive opinion and recommendations
- The candidate will provide communication support for events and conferences in the region
- The candidate will provide strategic inputs for customer communication with the Communications team and work closely with the GEO sales teams to execute those programmes
- Enable effective participation of the executive management in Media and PR related activities
- Identify opportunities to position company as a thought leader in the IT space
- To manage a databank of information (message house, case studies, pitch notes, etc.) for use as communication tools by the team
- To manage external vendors (PR agency) for eliciting maximum output
b. Reporting Manager : Primarily to Geo Head / Matrix to External Communications Head
c. Number of Reportees to the role : Nil
d. Position Type : Support Services
e. Mobility Requirements : High within Geo, limited travel to India

2. Person Specification :
a. Experience in years : 6 – 8 years
b. Kind of Experience : Performed a similar role in a mid size geo service provider
c. Education : Graduate, some degree/diploma in marketing or communications preferred
d. Certification : some certification in communications would be desirable
e. Domain Knowledge : Knowledge of IT Industry and the geo Market , familiar with Offshore. Familiarity with IT Services Marketing Association (ITSMA) would be desirable. Requires familiarity with IT bodies, events and the opinion makers landscape.
f. Technical Skills : Professional grade knowledge on Word, Powerpoint, Project. Good writing skills needed.
g. Language Proficiency : English.
h. Desired Competencies :
i. Behavioral : High energy levels and initiative taking for a startup function. Must be willing to work across time zones. Must be a self starter and work independently.

i.Source Preference : Mid tier geo based IT services providers like Sapient , Varros Logic etc ($200 mn - $ 400 mn turnover) in US (eg.)
