Primary skills :

Candidates should have strong server side Java skills gained in an investment banking environment, preferably with strong knowledge of a number of the following functionality\business areas :-

• Listed products e.g. Options, Futures (preferably Equity based)
• Real time Position keeping (ideally with risk related knowledge)
• Trade lifecycle of derivatives
• Exchange connectivity
• Experience of moving functionality from vendor based systems to in-house systems
• Technically, they should be very strong in: Java-design and develop the multi-threaded server side mission critical client-facing applications with experience of the complete project life cycle from analysis to deployment.
• Key technical skills other than Java include:          Oracle – the system will make heavy use of Oracle as a persistent transactional data store, with up to 1k transactions per second.
• XML – XML will be used extensively for inter-process communication

Technologies

• Spring Framework - able to break down applications into components and dependency inject with XML configuration.
• TDD/Continuous integration tools - able to follow a continuous integration, test driven development approach using JUnit, Team City, Maven and other development tools.
• SQL- able to query complex data using SQL on ORACLE and MS SQL Server. Understand and write database procedures using PL/SQL or T-SQL.
• Asynchronous messaging – experience of pub/sub and queue based messaging, preferably Solace for pub sub and IBM Websphere MQ/JMS for queue-based messaging.

Candidate should be proficient in parsing XML.

Candidates should be familiar with an agile methodology e.g. SCRUM
