1) Kenneth P. Jacobsen:
Former ExecutiveVice President of Information Sciences, Incyte Genomics ( NASDAQ: INCY) and former Vice President of Partner Software, SGI ( Silicon Graphics Inc).
Dr. Jacobsen has over 30 years experience developing software or leading teams that develop software in a wide range of technical areas. He spent 13 years developing software for an offshore engineering company, including complete packages with full user interfaces. Dr. Jacobsen then spent five years leading all internal software development and interfacing with external third-party software vendors at MasPar Computer Corporation. Silicon Graphics Inc. was the next company for Dr. Jacobsen, where he spent seven years and became Vice president in charge of all internal and external application software efforts, and for the three most recent years, Dr. Jacobsen headed the entire West coast production operation for the genomics information division of Incyte Inc. with as many as 600 employees and a budget of as much as $130M.
Recently, Dr. Jacobsen has founded a company to do image object matching based on a new technological approach. If successful, this effort could bring image search capabilities to the public in the same way that text search came to the public a decade ago.
