Role : Sr. Technical Specialist (OSI PI) / Technical Specialist (OSI PI)
The Sr. Technical Specialist / Technical Specialist are roles within our company that provide technical expertise to projects in specific technology areas. This particular role requires a person(s) with expertise in the OSI PI Product used in real-time data applications. Overall the Candidate(s) needs to have good experience with real-time data systems used in oil and gas industry or other industries e.g. manufacturing/mining/chemical/utilities. Depending on the experience and skill level of the candidate(s) the responsibilities are as listed below:-
Responsibilities :
Technical Specialist (OSI PI)
Reporting to Sr. Technical Specialist /Technical Architect/ Project Manager: -
Hands-on execution of projects (as a team member) related to real-time data systems
- Perform typical activities such as Configuration, tuning, application development, systems integration and testing.
- Perform code reviews of the deliverables
- Provides appropriate input to the manager for planning & scheduling
- Adhere to the project plan & schedule
Sr. Technical Specialist (OSI PI)
Reporting to Technical Architect/ Project Manager, the expectations are:
- Liaise with client managers/ specialists to understand problem statements
- Provides inputs to the manager for planning & scheduling
- Solution definition – methodology, approach and technical solution for projects and proposals
- Conducts technical feasibility and validates various solution options for the requirements
- Provide technical leadership in development/ implementation/maintenance projects
- Make recommendations to improve techno-functional solutions and workflows.
- Building competencies and manage knowledge base in OSI PI product application
- Provide technical support during build, Test and Deploy enhancements/customization as required
- Adhere to the project plan & schedule
Qualification : Bachelor Degree in any engineering branch
Experience/Skills :
- Candidates are expected to have an overall IT related experience of 5+years for Sr. Technical Specialist (3+ years for Technical Specialists).
- A minimum of 1 year experience with the OSI PI Product
- Good experience working with OSI PI product customization and support
- PI Sever Architecture and Administration
- PI-SDK
- ProcessBook/Datalink
- RTWebParts
- PI Interface Configuration
- PI Security/Trusts
- System Tuning
- Knowledge of PI data extraction
- PI Archives
- ITMonitor
- Experience with different stages of Software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with relational databases
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral, essential.
- Flexibility to travel and relocate depending on the requirement
In addition to the above the Sr. Technical Specialists are expected to have the following experience / skills
- Client facing and Technical mentoring skills
- Experience with data warehousing concepts
- Experience with performance tuning techniques, both at the application layer and the database layer
- Understanding of overall enterprise architecture including integration tools, application servers etc.
- Experience with real-time data systems from other Automation systems vendors e.g.: Honeywell, Invensys etc…
