GIS Experience:
Should have at least 7 to 8 years of experience as a GIS architect using ESRI ArcGIS products and/or GE-Smallworld Technologies. Thorough understanding of designing, developing and deploying large GIS based enterprise applications.
We want someone with knowledge of software lifecycle and communication skills…global delivery model experience is a definite plus!
Domain Experience:
Should have at least 1-2 years of Utilities domain experience.
Job Description:
The GIS Technical Architect ideally will understand the problem and requirements, evaluate the alternatives, design the architecture, develop the solutions and work with clients to ensure their satisfaction. They must have both deep and broad GIS and related technology experience. The candidate should have good knowledge about system integration strategies. Candidates must be able to perform multiple roles.
Presentation skills, web development, system networking, good problem solving and troubleshooting skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Education Qualification:
Must have Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Geography or Management Information Systems or a related field.
Technical Expertise:
Should have good working knowledge of ESRI products ArcGIS Desktop, ArcSDE and ArcFM(Miner & Miner), ArcObjects, ArcGIS Server and ArcIMS
Should have good Knowledge of development methodologies (OOAD), tool sets (.NET, VB, C#, UML) and database platforms (Oracle/SQL Server)
Good domain knowledge in gas and power utilities with an ability to develop spatial data models independently.
GIS Experience:
Required : 7+ years experience with GIS
Desired: 2+ years experience as Technical Architect in GIS based utility projects
